A Gothic Vampire Wedding at Valle Crucis Abbey

Tucked away in Llangollen, just outside of Wrexham you'll find Valle Crucis Abbey, and let me tell you - it is absolutely STUNNING! The stone arches, ancient ruins, and beautiful Welsh hills create such an insane backdrop that feels historic but beautifully haunting at the same time. I'd been wanting to shoot a gothic vampy session here for ages, so when I suggested this to Kate Reynolds (MUA) and her partner Tom was on board it was all systems go!! It was their first time having a couples shoot - you wouldn't think it from looking at the photos....

Playing with light and shade, the candlelight, the drama! For this shoot, we leaned fully into the vampire aesthetic: red florals, rich textures, antique candelabras, we didn't go overboard, just a few items that can really bring the story to life.

Kate rustled up this beautiful Victorian style attire, adding layers upon layers to create this look, complete with the most stunning vampire make up I think I've ever seen, she looked like she'd stepped straight off set on the Vampire Diaries!
